Privacy Policy

Neuro Boost is operated by EduMate Africa ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Neuro Boost mobile application and related services. By using Neuro Boost, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information: When you sign in (for example with Apple or Google), we receive identifiers and profile details such as your email address and display name to create and secure your account.

Training and gameplay data: We store game scores, levels, workout progress, streaks, XP, cognitive test results, and leaderboard participation when you use those features.

Device and usage data: We may collect device type, operating system version, app version, language preference, and general interaction data needed to operate and improve the service.

Purchase information: Subscription status and plan tier are stored so we can unlock Pro features. Payment card data is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play — we do not receive your full payment card number.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to provide brain-training games, daily workouts, assessments, progress tracking, social features (such as friends and leaderboards), and customer support.

We use aggregated or de-identified data to improve difficulty, fix bugs, and understand which features are used.

We may send push notifications if you enable them (for example streak reminders). You can turn notifications off in Profile settings or your device settings.

3. Advertising (free tier)

If you use Neuro Boost on the free plan, we may show advertisements provided by Google AdMob (or similar ad partners).

Ad partners may use device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to deliver and measure ads, subject to their own policies. See Google's Privacy Policy.

On iOS, we may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission so ads can be more relevant. You can decline tracking; the app remains usable with less personalized ads.

Pro subscriptions remove in-app advertising from Neuro Boost surfaces we control. Third-party links opened from the app are not covered by this removal.

4. Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Subscription purchases are handled through your Apple or Google account. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your full payment credentials.

Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Refunds follow the store's policies.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where applicable, we process personal data based on: performance of our contract with you (providing the app), legitimate interests (security, analytics, improvement), consent (optional tracking or notifications where required), and legal obligations.

6. Sharing of information

We use service providers such as Supabase (hosting and database), Expo/RevenueCat (subscriptions, when enabled), Google AdMob (advertising on the free tier), and analytics tools that help us operate the app. They process data on our instructions.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets, with notice where required.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Ad partners may use data for advertising as described above.

7. Data retention and account deletion

We keep account and progress data while your account is active. You can request account deletion in the app Profile screen or by emailing us; deletion removes your profile, progress, and social data from our systems, subject to legal retention requirements.

Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (for example fraud prevention). Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion.

8. Children

Neuro Boost is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information as defined by those laws.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new date at the top and, where required, provide additional notice in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
